Butterflies are an amazing part of nature!
The transition from egg to catepillar to pupa to a beautiful butterfly is the process of Metamorphisis. Children and adults tend to be curious about this transition as it is limited to very few species.
The Children's Discovery Museum on the Saskatchewan has a new live exhibit - The Life Cycle of a Painted Lady Butterfly!
In late May we introduced large catepillars to the museum. Children an
d caregivers have marveled over the transitions we have experienced to date. As of June 5th we had 7 Pupas. Here is a picture of them.It should not be long now! It usually takes between 7-10 days to move from a Pupa to an Adult.
We encourage you to bring your child in to share in this amazing processes and take part in the interactive games we have set up along with the live exhibit.
